Going back to School

Recently I was on a cruise with 15 other family members. We had a great time! On our cruise we were visiting the Port of Progreso in Mexico. I had met a woman online that has dedicated her life to that community and we had the blessing of meeting her. She took us to the elementary school in Progreso. The teachers and students welcomed us with open hearts. Sharon is the closest thing to a Mother Teresa we have ever met in person.

The only thorn of the day was dealing with customs. We had taken school supplies with us to take to the school. Customs would not allow us to deliver them because they were not for the government or the red cross. This was a disappointment to us because we truly were given a gift of getting to go to the school and meet the children and we were unable to return the gift in the way we originally intended.

I know that myself and my family look forward to working with Sharon in the future to help her help her community!

First Post!

This is the very first post! How exciting! I've been reading blogs of friends for a long time and have finally decided that I would join the on-line communication age! I look forward to posting all (well most or some) of the events in my life so you can better know me (and my family).

Keep watching ~ I've got some fun things coming up!
